| 1. day (48 km) | Svitavy and Svojanov Castle You will see the most interesting places in Svitavy and then you will ride through the picturesque valley of the Svitavy River to the medieval castle of Svojanov, which is shrouded in many mysterious legends. The entire route of the trip follows marked cycle paths. You can walk around one of the longest squares in the country. Municipal Museum and Gallery - take a walk through the history of washing and laundry technology and see Svitavy's unique mechanical nativity scene. You'll also learn about the story of world-famous Oskar Schindler, the main character in Spielberg's Oscar-winning film Schindler's List, who was born in Svitavy. Brand Forest Area - just a short walk from the town centre, you can enjoy hiking and cycling trails, work out in an outdoor gym, go to the springs of the Svitava River or take a boat ride on the Rosnička pond. Svojanov Castle You will learn about the oldest history of the region at the ancient castle in the middle of deep forests. The castle tower offers a magnificent view of the Křetínka River valley. Don't miss a tour of the medieval cellars with a torture chamber, the original armourers' house, the ornate Empire palace. Then you can relax in the Gothic gardens. Extra tip! Recreational area Knížecí louka - a natural area within a stone's throw of the town centre offers a cycle path, an in-line trail, a pumptrack and a wonderful setting for a picnic. Pastýřka lookout tower - from the top of the Pastvisko Hill you can see the whole town and the beautiful landscape from a bird's eye view. If you are a fan of mountain bikes take a ride down the brand new singletracks. Hřebeč Mining Trails Seventy kilometres of trails will take you through a landscape where the rumble of mining machinery echoed a hundred years ago.
