The holidays and time for fooling around in the water have long passed. The countryside is gloomy and damp and it gets dark early. This sort of atmosphere doesn’t help anybody get into a good mood. But there is a possibility here how to have fun in the water for at least a few hours. The number of water parks in the Czech Republic really has boomed over the past ten years, so why not go and mess around in them whatever the weather is like outside. Water slides, whirlpools, water jets and “wild water” are already waiting for you.
Prague itself can boast three water wonderlands, one of which is also the largest in the Czech Republic. This is AquaPalace Praha. This sports and relaxation centre caters for the whole family. There are three water worlds here as well as one open air one. And there are so many attractions in them that you won’t know which one to try first. If you like taking saunas, sauna world awaits you, which surely has every type of sauna that has ever been invented. There is also a cosmetic and fitness centre here. They even offer physiotherapy services here. If you would like to stay a few days, you can stay in the neighbouring four-star hotel which also has a large conference centre.
The other two water parks in Prague are smaller, but no less popular. Aquacentrum Letňany Lagoon and AquaDream water entertainment centre. Both of these facilities also offer a wide range of attractions and possibilities for relaxation. There are three water parks in Central Bohemia, in Beroun, Kolín and Kladno.
Aquaforum Františkovy Lázně, a world of water and relaxation, which will caress your body and mind. You can let yourself be pampered in these attractive surroundings whatever the weather. There is also a water park in Horažďovice, where among other things, you will also find a wave machine, something that not every water park can boast.
There are two water parks in the Ústí Region. In Klášterec nad Ohří, which is however only open in the summer, and Aquadrom in Most, which was built recently on the site of the former thermal swimming baths. The Babylon water park in Liberec is probably the first centre of this type in the Czech Republic. The whole water wonderland is inspired by the baths of antiquity and you really will find a lot of attractions and entertainment here.
The Hradec Králové Region also offers fun in the water. The aqua centre in Hradec Králové is to be found in the city spa. This also offers many ways to relax and have a rest. Others are to be found in Jičín and Špindlerův Mlýn.
The water park in Tábor is a multifunctional centre, which you can make use of at any time of the year. It offers indoor and open air pools, a sun beach and also a hydro-relaxation rehabilitation centre.
In Třeboň, you can visit the aqua centre in the Aurora spa complex. The water is slightly saline throughout the whole complex, which as opposed to chlorinated water does not make you eyes burn and redden and is great for buoyancy.
In Jihlava, you will find Vodní Ráj with entertainment ensured the whole year round. It has an open air and indoor part, where you will find everything you need for fun and games in the water. You can of course also relax here – in the whirlpool bath, saunas, solaria, with massages or in the sports corner.
There are three aqua centres in the Pardubice Region. Water park – Plavecký areál Pardubice, Česká Třebová indoor swimming pool and the water park in Ústí nad Orlicí, which is however only open in the summer months.
In Moravia, you will find water parks in Boskovice in the town spa, Vyškov, Uherský Brod and Šumperk. You can visit the newest water park in the Czech Republic in Olomouc. This was only opened in 2009. The Moravian-Silesian Region has the most facilities for having fun in the water. There are four water parks here.
The summer water park in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm, Aquacentrum Bohumín and the Kravaře water park. Worth a mention, is the large sports centre in Frýdek-Místek, where among other things you will also find a summer and indoor water park. This facility, which is five years old, can rightly boast the title “most modern”. All of the pools and attractions are from stainless steel. The summer part also has an additional bonus – a beautiful view over the panorama of the Beskids and Lysá hora.
